Barbara Najmy has a refined and graceful approach to family, career & life itself. She is a visionary and creative thinker when it comes to all aspects of her life, and in business matters she relies greatly on her keen insight and intuition. After a longtime career in high-end retail and management, she turned her sights to the real estate arena and focused her efforts within the Lakewood Ranch residential market. In nearly 10 years with Michael Saunders & Company, Barbara has brokered some of the area’s top luxury sales and earned a reputation as one of the community’s top-producing professionals. When asked how she measures success, she tenaciously states, “by a willingness to fail.”
Barbara’s career path has now turned to an exciting new opportunity. Recently, she accepted a new position as the Director of Custom New Home Sales & Marketing for Paradise Homes of Sarasota; she will also be involved in expanding developmental opportunities for the Company. Some might say it’s a leap of faith to transition from her well-established residential real estate sales business, however Barbara has never been one to shy away from new challenges and opportunities.
After meeting Barbara during a design session of her own new personal home, Jim Butler, CEO, President of Paradise Homes of Sarasota, recognized her unique approach and the importance of positioning an expert in the Custom New Home Arena and felt Barbara was a perfect fit for the job.
To Barbara, houses are more than commodities to be bought and sold; rather, they are designed to be havens from the stresses of the outside world, fashion statements, places where dreams flourish, where memories are created and where lifestyles are lived. Armed with an innate sense of how a home’s distinct architecture and flow will impact her clients’ lives, Barbara is an ideal resource for those in the market thinking about building their dream home. Her intuitive approach to facilitating a seamless design process; her in-depth knowledge of construction elements, high-end finishes and refined appointments; and her strong professional network enable her to facilitate a smooth building experience for her clientele.
Barbara places a high value on cultivating long-term relationships with clients and becomes intimately acquainted with their lifestyle desires and passions. She understands that the purchase of a new home is one of the most significant transactions her clients will make. “In the custom home arena, movement occurs at a different pace,” she reveals. “The fit between the sales consultant and the client must be strong.” Such is the case with builders and real estate professionals as well. Barbara’s high-end approach and comprehensive knowledge of the luxury real estate market within the region have made her the perfect individual to collaborate with Mr. Butler and Paradise Homes.
Barbara brings her boutique-style service to the new home construction arena and feels this will be the major driving component that will set her and Paradise Homes apart from the competition. Paradise Homes’ mantra and inventive approach to selling is best associated with its “Jewel Boxes Bundles.” When unwrapped, buyers will discover an array of surprises such as high-end appointments and finishes, along with trusted name brands accompanied by quality and value. Accordingly, Barbara’s goal is to engage each of her clients in creating a home with timeless elegance, lifestyle and integrity.
Throughout the course of her career, Barbara’s thorough and knowledgeable approach has earned her professional accolades, including a position as the top-producing agent in her former Lakewood Ranch-based MS&C office in 2009, and recognition for closing the highest single sales within that office in 2007 and 2008. If history is any indication, she will continue this trend through her commitment to providing top–end service and empathetic client care. Her greatest rewards, though, come not from quantified closing statistics but from the knowledge that she has enriched the lives of her clients by assisting them in creating the homes to match their individual lifestyles. “Winston Churchill said, ‘We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give,’” she muses. “I am so thankful to my family, friends and clients for enabling me to cultivate this wonderful career.”
Her life is rich with family, friends, professional ventures and community outreach efforts. Barbara and her husband Joe celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2010. The couple has raised two amazing children, Brittany and Justin. Barbara sits on the Board of Directors of the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund, and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to build a better life for area residents.
